Welcome to The Heavy Wrench. The mission of The Heavy Wrench is to make a great community of mechanics and or technicians. The heavy equipment/diesel repair field is needing people as a whole. I would like your help in promoting our industry and the entire repair field. Within this community, I want to leave the branding out of it. It does not matter to me what brand of equipment you work on. We, as an industry, are battling to keep people interested in working on equipment as it is. We may talk about differences in them, the bad about all of them, and there may even be a rare chance we talk about the good in them haha. But we are mostly mechanics, so we hardly get to see the good. I will also share tips and tricks as I come across them with this community.
I have been working on equipment for over 20 years now, after starting as an apprentice. I have a degree from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mi. I've spent about 11 of my 20 years in field service. That time was split between a dealership and a contractor. Now I am back at a dealership and work in the shop. In high school, I took all the Automotive Technology classes that were available. I grew up on a small family farm, so of course, while growing up we had plenty to fix. The farm equipment is what peaked my interest in the repair field. My family is number one in my life. I have a beautiful wife and two awesome sons. So, if you notice a lag in content sometimes, it's most likely that I am spending time with them. Sorry about that, but life is life.
